OUR BEGINNING

During my senior year in High School I was asked to be director of the school's Black History Program. It was a very important challenge for me; because I wanted this representation to be as accurate as possible. I found out that other students both black and white wanted to be a part of it as well. Our program centered around the Civil Rights Movement. We needed a strong representative to reenact Dr. King delivering his famous "I Have A Dream Speech" for  days we searched for someone to recite this speech, but to no avail. Meanwhile I already knew his speech and for other occassions I  had recited it. So I volunteered, and it was truly a redefining moment in my life. I recieved a standing ovation from my peers, and my teacher suggested that I form my own performing arts production. This is how it all began. I went on to learn all of Dr. King's speech's verbatim. I also grew more interested in the history of America itself, and thus sparked the birth of  " UNITED WE STAND"

UNITED  WE  STAND!!!!!!!

THE PERFORMERS:

The Fabulous Gospel Dee's: Established over thirty years ago, they have mastered the old fashioned style of Gospel music brought into existence by the quartet groups of the fifties. They have shared the stage with the likes of The Soul Stirres, Dixie Hummingbirds, Sensational Nightengales, The Five Blind Boys, and The Clark Sisters.
